Responsibility – Taking Charge of Your Success

Taking Charge of Janet Schlarbaum Success By Jerry Robkoff.

Be it in life or in business, we all end to start falling into ruts. Things either become a plateau, which means it doesn’t get better nor worse. Or, even worse, things start to slowly deteriorate, and we wonder what is happening and who or what’s to blame for this sudden or ever growing downturn.

The greatest asset and tool for anyone, wanting to expand and grow is to create positive change in whatever it is they are involved with. However, before that can even occur, it is vital that YOU take responsibility for that change and the action that will cause it. By taking responsibility, this means you are in full agreement and acceptance of the actions you are taking to create that change. It is so easy to lay the blame on things we feel we can’t control or on people we feel are either “out to get us” or beyond our reach. I hate to hit you with some cold reality, but that excuse just doesn’t cut it.

The ONLY way change is going to happen in your life is when YOU DECIDE to make it happen. It must be a very conscious and deliberate act. If you’re waiting for your ship to come in, let me tell you, it left port a lonnnng time ago. If you’re counting on luck, that lady is out dancing with someone else. And if you think someone or something is going to suddenly appear and wave the magic wand, you’re in a state of pure delusion, and you may want to seek out a good therapist.

You are the only one who is capable of changing things in your life. You really do have that power, but you must embrace it and accept it. You can, of course, change things for the worse, and that is also a definite decision on your part. However, I think it’s safe to assume that we want to create positive changes in our life and business.

The formula is really very simple. Map out your plan of action and decide to do it. By “mapping” I mean get a piece a paper and a pen and WRITE YOUR GOALS AND DESIRED RESULTS DOWN! I’m sure you’ll agree with the statement: “If it isn’t in writing,it isn’t so.” Don’t wait for that special moment or sign to happen. The truth is, if you realize that a change is needed, you’ve already received your epiphany, so run with it.

It’s perfectly ok to seek out help should your plan of action call for that. Just remember, though, it’s still up to you to implement and create your results.

See you at the top!
